Things to know about walkie talkie radios
This article deals with everything you need to know to buy, operate and care for two way radios. These radios are useful for remote or outdoor activities as it does not rely on cell sites so you can connect as easy as you can. Walkie talkie radios are a powerful communication tool. Two-way radios can be used in a variety of situations and are a useful alternative to cell phones, especially when camping and hiking or when otherwise out of cell-tower range. Walkie talkie radios are divided into two main categories, FRS and GMRS. FRS family walkie-talkies are ideal sfor use in; hunting, skiing, driving, biking, vacations, school, Sports and more. GMRS is a licensed radio used in businesses and is much expensive compared to FRS although it is more efficient.
Getting the correct radio for the correct application is essential. For instance, purchasing a VHF radio for indoor use would be a big mistake. VHF radios are meant strictly for outdoor use. The difference between UHF and VHF can be explained with frequency penetration. If you are working exclusively outdoors with open land, rolling hills or heavy trees, VHF radios are the best. In any other situation, including indoor to outdoor use, UHF radios will be the choice.
The accessories for walkie talkie radios include rechargeable batteries; drop in rechargers, multi-unit rechargers for charging as many as six units at a time, and an audio accessory jack that can be used for headsets or speaker microphones. Cellular phone is one of the latest inventions. Many of you would remember creating walkie talkie radios when they were young with the help of strings and plastic cups that enabled them to communicate with my playmates in short distances.
If you are going to buy walkie-talkie radios, you should look for the purpose you are buying for. For example if it is for business purposes and other important matters, the best type of walkie talkie radios for you is the licensed type. However if your purpose is just for fun, the unlicensed walkie talkie radios is enough for you. Distance is also a factor. Location, height and range of the walkie talkie radios are the things that you must remember when you are using these radios. I hope this article has guided my readers about things one need to know.

How can i use VHF radio as an internet connection ?
I'm on an island where there is not telephone and mobile signals cant reached i've only and old VHF radio with his serial modem, this is and old BBS station and it is working.
There is no service for this. If there is a telephone service to the Island you might be able to get together with others and persuade your telephone company to provide a single wide bandwidth link. You could then get others to share the connection to spread the cost. The only other option is satellite, which is very expensive, again you might be able to get a block deal for a small area like this.
