Pain Relief in Selected Patent Documents

US2003105417

PAIN AWAY consists of two handgrips (F) on either side of a treatment core (R). This treatment core (R) has a pair of permanent belts (L) mounted on wheels (C) for pressure treatment of the muscles beside the spine, to relieve back pain and produce relaxation. A detachable belt (M) is used for cellulite treatment. The device vibrates as desired. Since this is the first device based on the acupressure method of back pain relief it is unique in concept. Drake's search of existing patents as provided by the PTDL in Dallas, Tex. #606/204 revealed nothing like PAIN AWAY. Specific features that make it unique are: (1) the fact that it rolls up and down the back; and other parts of the body, eliminating the use of creams or abrasive rubbing motions; (2) the pyramids on the belts need not ever touch the skin itself thereby lessening the chance of transmittal of any infections from one person to another (if the device is used in a commercial manner such as hospital therapy); (3) the fact that the spinal gap spacer (and vibrator housing) (B) makes it ideal for the treatment of spinal pain associated with muscle tension; (4) the fact that the pyramids (S) on the belts (L, M) are rubber will prevent injury: (5) the fact that the simplicity of the use of PAIN AWAY makes it easy for a non-professional to use easily: (6) the fact that it is a cellulite treatment method that does not require lotions and cremes.

A temperature compression treatment garment for providing therapy to the chest and/or breasts for relief of pain and discomfort, comprising a band which is wrapped around the upper torso at the level of the chest and/or breasts and which applies compression variably and independently horizontally across the chest. The band has front and back shoulder straps which connect to apply compression variably and independently vertically across the chest. The band also has a frontal flap which forms a pocket for the insertion of a thermal device, such as a gel-pack, to heat or cool the chest and/or breasts of a user.

An apparatus for providing therapeutic electrical signals has a plurality of sets of electrodes, each set of electrodes comprising at least two electrodes for applying the therapeutic electrical signal to a user. A switch selectively switches the therapeutic electrical signal to each of the electrodes in a predetermined pattern. The electrodes are arranged on a flexible platform which can substantially conform to surfaces of the user. The therapeutic electrical signal can be applied to the sets of electrodes in any predetermined pattern, including a predetermined pattern that sequentially sends the therapeutic electrical signal in a first direction to each set of electrodes. Preferably, the sets of electrodes comprise at least three electrodes arranged in a substantially chevron pattern with a center electrode having the opposite potential to the side electrode. The therapeutic electrical signal is generated by a signal generator. The signal generator generates different types of therapeutic electrical signals by applying a base wave with a frequency of about 150 KHz to 180 KHz at different frequencies between about 2 to 100 times in a second. The switch selectively switches the different types of therapeutic electrical signals in the predetermined pattern. The signal generator can decrease the therapeutic electrical signals from its maximum to its minimum within about 0.1 to 0.01 microseconds. The therapeutic electrical signal is switched to a next set of electrodes within about 0.5 to 2 seconds. The apparatus and method can be used in a variety of treatments, including relief of pain, relief of stress, electronic acupuncture and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation.

Do you have to go to home and select Turn off system to turn off your PS3 or do you flip just flip the switch?

the PS3 is like a PC. It has a hard drive and it needs to be shut down properly. Always use the "turn off system" command to avoid hard drive error.
