I am looking for some advice on color in my living room?
Okay, brief description of the colors in my living room.... off white carpet with a sage and light tan area rug on top,3 light tan walls, with one white wall which is where the large picture window is, dark beige couch and love seat with green and beige and tan accent pillows, awful orangey-oak like coffee/end table and bookshelf, black tv stand(not entertainment unit just a stand) 5 white panel tab curtains. Again awful orangey-oak like computer desk. OKAY, question... we are doing a major overhaul of the colors. The room was just painted with the tan so that stays. I am wanting to sand down and paint the coffee/end tables, desk and shelf and tv stand(color advice please) and thinking of dyeing the curtains(color please). Advice is greatly appreciated.
How about doing the furniture either all black, or a milk white.
Personally, I'd do the milk white. It's clean and fresh and very neutral and will blend those pieces back, not make them stand out.
Then you're open to do the room however you please.
You mentioned you have sage and tan and shades of beige -- how about bringing in a pale water blue in pillows or fabric somewhere, and a sandy gold accent.
