Feng Shui Sleeping Under A Beam - How to Color It
Feng Shui Sleeping Under A Beam
When you follow Feng Shui principles to rearrange your bedroom, change the color of the wallpaper or paint you must take into consideration two important Feng Shui guidelines. Feng Shui Sleeping Under A Beam
1. The bed should not be directly opposite the door and
2. There should be no beams above the bed
Dealing with the first guideline of not having your bed directly opposite the door. It is important that you position your bed in the best place so that it has a good vantage point. This is essential so that you can see when anyone enters your room, and you are not caught unawares.
Because the Chinese believe that a dead person is always carried out feet first from the bedroom, they advocate that your feet should not be directly opposite the door!
I have to say that viewpoint is not exclusive to Feng Shui. In my caribbean culture people believe that because dead people are laid out with their feet to the door, you should not place the foot of the bed directly opposite the bedroom door either.
Beams are a bit more difficult to deal with, especially if you live in an older style property or if you have purchased a barn or church conversion which invariably have beams in their design. However, in line with Feng Shui principles a bed should not be placed directly under an exposed overhead beam, a ceiling fan or the exposed apex of roof lines. The reasoning behind this is that when you are sleeping under something hostile, sharp or heavy, it presses down your health.
But there are ways around interrupting the fast flowing chi'i and preventing it from bringing on poor health.
Simply hang some fabric from the beam, it will stop the flow of chi'i. If your bed is under a ceiling fan move it to a place where it will not be affected by the fan, but if you have no choice but to sleep under one of these oppresive articles you should ensure that your head is placed under the highest part of your ceiling.
Bedrooms should be light, airy and uncluttered. This is necessary to allow chi'i to flow gently and freely so that it can restore you while you are asleep. Feng Shui Sleeping Under A Beam
Only use your bedroom for sleeping and love. Don't double up and incorporate an office or study in your bedroom. This may be difficult to avoid especially if there is not much space. However if you do not have any choice but to have your computer in your bedroom try and partition off an area away from your bed for that activity.
As the bedroom is a place of rest and calm the colors of the curtains, drapes and carpets should be yin. Although yin should be the choice for bedroom ambience, too much yin can lead to susceptibility to sickness.
Once you have yin colors in your bedroom you need to balance it with yang. Lights and music are good representations of yang. You could introduce some calming, New Age, or soul music, they create a good inflow of yang energy.
In Feng Shui the color of your bedroom also depends on what direction it is facing. A South Facing room represents Summer, the phoenix and the element is fire, so choose bright colors such as red, yellow, orange.
West Facing represents Autumn and the ruling color is white, the animal is the white tiger and the element is metal. Metallic colors of silver or gold mixed with white should be used.
East represents Spring, the dragon and the element of wood. The colors are greens, blues and browns.
The North represents winter and the tortoise. The element is water and the colors are black, dark blues, and charcoal. Hang blue curtains on your windows and blue carpets on your floor.
When buying furniture look for pieces that have rounded corners.
Ensure nothing is blocking the doorway so that the chi'i can enter easily.
And finally, do not have a mirror opposite your bed. The Chinese believe that when you are sleeping mirrors reflect the soul and take away your energy. If you have a mirror opposite your bed just throw a sheet or covering over it when you go to sleep. In Feng Shui mirrors have also been interpreted as a third party in a marriage, and if you are married or have a partner you should not have a mirror reflecting your bed. The Chinese believe that mirrors reflect the sleeping couple, sending 'shar hi'(bad energy) their way, causing misunderstandings, and in some instances causing one of the partners to become unfaithful. So beware of mirrors in your bedroom! Feng Shui Sleeping Under A Beam

Which laser beam carries more energy per photon – a red beam or a green beam?
Hi!
To calculate the energy of photon, you use the formula : E=hf.
(where E=energy of photon,h=Planck constant,f=frequency of photon)
Since h is a constant, the determining variable will be the frequency.Since green light has a higher frequency (due to shorter wavelength), green beam carries more energy per photon!
