Surround sound set-up and suggesstions?
I am moving into a new apartment and doing an electronics overhaul.
I bought a 46" Sony Bravia LCD and a Playstation 3....now my next step is surround sound and I am a little tripped up.
1) To get HDMI audio from both the Comcast DVR box and the Playstation 3, any surround sound system would need to have a receiver with it, correct?
2) Any suggesstions on decent systems in the $200-300 range?
3) I have been doing some research on wireless rear speakers. I think it would look pretty ghetto with wires running from the entertainment center to the back of the room. But I've read the wireless speakers have frequency issues with wireless controllers, routers, etc. Anyone set-up they're home theater like this, did you run wires under a rug or something?
Any help would be appreciated!
I have 2 suggetions for you.
1) Save your money and get a decent component system. The all-in-one HTIBs aren't worth the money. When one part breaks, you might as well throw the whole thing out. If you invest in a good a/v receiver and speakers, you'll be happier with the sound and save $ in the long run.
2) Wireless speakers seem like a great alternative but none (even the more expensive ones) sound as good as decent quality speakers.
I know these aren't the suggestions you were hoping for but it's good honest advice.
