Day 1

On arrival at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca* you will be driven by limousine to your 5* accommodation in Marrakech, a journey time of approximately 2 hours. Dinner will be served at your hotel.

Day 2

After breakfast you will be collected from your accommodation and taken on a full day guided tour of Marrakech. Your tour starts at the 12th century Koutoubia Mosque whose beautiful minaret dominates the skyline of Marrakech and can be seen from almost every approach to the city. The tour will include a visit to the medina and its colorful souks

(Marketplace) where you can barter for carpets, leather goods,

jewellery, lanterns and spices. In the early evening we will head towards the frenetic Djemaa el-Fna, the most famous square in Africa, where snake charmers, storytellers, acrobats, medicine men and musicians compete for your attention. Dinner will be served at Al Fassia, one of the finest Moroccan restaurants in Marrakech. You will return to your 5* accommodation for the night.

Day 3

After breakfast you will be taken to Marrakech Menara Airport where your private plane will fly you to the town of Zagora in the deep south of Morocco, a flight time of approximately 90 minutes. On arrival at Zagora you will be driven in a 4x4 vehicle to the village of M'hamid on the edge of the desert where you will spend the night at the excellent Dar Azawad.

Lunch and dinner will be served here.

Alternatively, for those who wish to dine under the stars and spend the night in a Berber encampment (also run by Dar Azawad), this too can be arranged.

 

Day 4

After an early breakfast you will be taken in a 4x4 vehicle into the desert to watch the early morning sunrise and then you will be free to spend the morning exploring the desert area, returning to Dar Azawad in time for lunch. After lunch you will then return to Zagora Airport where your private plane will fly you to the lovely town of Essaouira situated on the Atlantic coast. You will be met at the airport by your driver and taken to your 5* accommodation in the medina. Dinner will be served at the excellent Sofitel Beach Restaurant.

Day 5

Today we will provide a full day guided tour of Essaouira. This magical fortified coastal town is in total contrast to Marrakech and offers many photographic opportunities including the lively port, the colourful souk and the medina. For lunch you may wish to eat at one of the many fish stalls near to the port where the morning's catch is on display and cooked right in front of you. For dinner, you will dine at "Sams", a

world-famous fish restaurant at the end of the harbour. You will return to your 5

* Accommodation for the night.

Day 6

After breakfast your driver will take you south of Essaouira where the stunning coastal scenery will provide many excellent photo opportunities. In the afternoon your private plane will fly you to Fes-Sais Airport and your driver will take you to your 5*accommodation. Dinner will be served at your hotel.

 

Day 7

After breakfast your guide will meet you and take you on a tour of the medieval medina of Fes, one of the largest car-free cities in the world. Narrow cobbled streets are filled with ancient mosques and towering green-glazed minarets. Places of interest to visit in Fes include the Medersa el-Attarine (Koranic university), Foundouk Nejjarine, the shrine of Moulay Idriss II, the countless souks and the famous tanneries. You can also explore the Dar Batha Museum, the recently restored Ibn Danan Synagogue and the impressive gates of the Royal Palace. In the evening you will be dining at the Sofitel Palais Jamaii restaurant.

 

Day 8

After breakfast your driver will take you to to the extensive Roman ruins at Volubilis, nearby Moulay Idriss and the Imperial city of Meknes. On your return to Fes you will be taken to the airport where your private plane will fly you to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca.

Here, your limousine will be waiting to transfer you to your 5* hotel. Dinner will be served at your hotel.

 

Day 9

After breakfast your limousine will take you to Casablanca Airport for your onward scheduled flight. If you would prefer to stay an extra night in fes rather than Casablanca this can also be arranged so that you will be connected to your onward flight out of Morocco.

Piper Malibu Mirage costs...?

So, my dream is to buy a plane of my own that is of fairly decent size. I'd like it to be able to travel at least 500 nm, so with the seating, engine, and history of the company, I chose the Piper Malibu. What would be the cost of up keeping the plane? What are its fuel costs per hour/mile? What would an overhaul cost? How much would hangaring the plane cost? I live in NY if it helps. The closest airport is Griffis Air Force Base. What would insurance cost on this plane? And last, what would the minamal salary be required to own a plane like this? Would a $60,000 salary (I plan on buying a used Piper for under <$500,000) suffice? How about $100,000?
So even if I somehow did fully buy one...would I be able to own it (Upkeep, overhauls, etc.) The salaries are just a range.

If you check a couple of the sites that list cost of ownership data you will find that it will be around 43,915.87 / year! That number is from PlaneQuest http://www.planequest.com/operationcosts/op_cost_info.asp?id=183 That number is based on fuel at $2.65/hr which is certainly incorrect these days.

The cost is probably closer to 55-65K unless you need an engine or other MAJOR services.
Insurance will be around 12-15K depending on flight experience of the pilot seeking coverage. Lower time pilots (less than 250-500 hours / no instrument rating) may not even be able to even insure a Mirage.
